Choosing the RIGHT Raleigh fence company to build your fence.

Summary: There are roughly 12-15 wood picket fence styles. Here is a sample material and cost sheet for constructing a 6-foot high dog-ear fence on your own. ALL real fence companies use the same suppliers. A real fence company will not use pre-made sections they will build their fences picket by picket. While this occasionally can be done without consequences, the success stories are rare.

We offer most of the designs for wood picket styles. I'm sure you will see many of the same designs on our websites. Our fence company in Raleigh does the most common ones, for your benefit. Just before writing this web page, I searched online for various sites about fences. Obviously, many have nothing to do with wood picket fences, but I quickly found Lifetime Warranty Next Generation Fences in Raleigh.

Making a material list for a privacy fence is pretty simplistic. First, you need to decide upon which style best fits your budget. That is where Lifetime Warranty Fences comes in. They can complete your job, the cheapest and quickest because they are a very cost efficient company. They do NOT sub-contract jobs, which is what most other Raleigh fence companies do. Their sub-contractors are credible, knowledgeable, and qualified. However, they cost more money because of their expenses since their sub-contractors have to provide their own trucks and tools. We recommend one fence company for all wrought iron, aluminum, and chain link jobs. We provide water sealing and staining services through Protect My Fence.

Remember, this company was founded on ONE simple principle, to save you the customer money, WITHOUT cutting corners.

Here is a material list to construct an 8-foot long fence section.

Dog Ear Privacy Fence Materials and Cost Sheet

  • One 4x4 x 8 pressure treated post for every eight feet. About $7 each.

  • Three pressure treated 2x4 x 8's. These are the rails. About $3 each.

  • About 17.5 of 5/8x6 x 6 pressure treated pickets for every eight feet. Today's approximate cost, $1.69 each.

  • 3" and 2" ring shank galvanized nails. Roughly .33 per foot .

  • You can rent an auger, or if you're crazy enough like Josh once was, you can buy a pair of post hole diggers and have fun. Either way $15-$100 is added to your job.

  • Gate hardware, estimated retail price $25 per gate.

  • Tools. Do you already have everything you think you will need? Probably not, so you will be more inclined to buy those ratty pre-made sections. You need a nail gun.

  • Experience. Sure anyone can do it but do you want it done quickly or can you spend a couple weekends doing hard labor?

  • 60 lbs. of concrete per hole. $4.00

In the end, the actual cost to do your job is about $9.00 per foot, which I priced out just before writing this web page. These prices are true to Raleigh, NC only. Remember if your fence is 200-400 feet, do you have any idea what you are getting into? So ask yourself this: why do other Raleigh fence companies charge so much more for the same products? You are not getting a better wood, or even better quality work. In fact, you are paying them more for your wood fence because their business style and approach is different.

Advertising costs companies THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars every year. We spent over $20,000 on advertising one year. I, Jamie Harrison, have nearly 30 websites that my husband has created, designed, and supported and we have had such success we have recently been able to cut that $20,000 that we spent on telephone book advertisements and online advertising into LESS than HALF of that. This year our marketing costs went down to nearly $8,500 AND OUR SALES STAYED THE SAME AND OUR PRICES TO YOU HAVE STAYED THE SAME!
